In this iconic photograph from the 1966 Isle of Man TT Races, Swiss team Fritz Scheidegger and Johnny Robinson stand triumphantly on the podium, having taken first place in the Sidecar TT race. Scheidegger, the driver, and Robinson, the passenger, had battled it out against some of the best sidecar teams in the world, ultimately emerging victorious with a time of 61 minutes and 34.4 seconds. To their left, runners-up Max Deubel and Emil Horner of Germany share a moment of camaraderie with the winners. Deubel, a multiple TT winner, and Horner had given Scheidegger and Robinson a run for their money, finishing just over a minute behind them. Third place went to Austrian team Georg Aubacher and Eduard Dien, who completed the podium with a time of 62 minutes and 31.8 seconds. The Sidecar TT was always a crowd favorite, and the excitement was palpable as the teams and their machinery pushed themselves to the limit on the challenging Mountain Course.
