The lads of the training ship HMS Impregnable, 1896. HMS Impregnable was a second-rate ship of the line that became a training ship at Devonport in 1862. She was replaced in the role by HMS Howe in 1886, with the Howe being renamed Impregnable. A succession of further ships served as HMS Impregnable until the establishment was decommissioned in 1948.
