Public Schools Brigade poster, WW1
First World War recruitment poster designed by John Hassall (1868-1948) for the Public School Brigade, Royal Fusiliers, 118th Infantry Brigade. Hassall, whose reputation as the acclaimed king of poster artists kept him very busy during the war, recycled an old Boer War-era design for Nestles Milk when he designed this poster with the soldier adopting a very similar pose. Date: c.1915
