Batchelor Monoplane prior to covering and fitting the engine. Albert Batchelor (7 July 1869 to 1960(ja)) was a retired cement manufacturer who received his RAC Aviators Certificate on 24 April 1937 at Thanet Aero Club. His monoplane never flew. His niece, Gladys Victoria Franks Batchelor (31 July 1916 to jajajaja), received her RAC Aviators Certificate on 7 September 1934 at Gravesend School of Flying. In 1934 she became the first private pilot to use Rochester Airport. Date: 1960
