The first train loads of walls, floors, stairs and landings components for the London County Councils ?2 million industrialised housing scheme for 562 flats at Morris Walk, Woolwich, are now arriving on the site from the factory at Lenwade near Norwich.
The LCC Morris Walk flats will be the first large scale industrialised blocks of council flats in Britain and the first built by Taylor Woodrow Anglian. A section of one of the flats being lifted from the track that carries the components from the railway sidings at Charlton to the site, after transportation by rail from the factory.
