CJ13 1322 An intriguing pair of AC Cobras
An intriguing pair of AC Cobras, 39 PH and 13 COB due to their joint history, allegedly, Carroll Shelby Celebration, a parade of over fifty cars that featured in his legendary motorsport career as a driver (he won the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1959), engineer (he developed the awesome Shelby and Daytona Cobras, which won the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1964) and team owner. Not bad for someone who often described himself as just a chicken farmer. Goodwood Revival, Goodwood Motor Circuit, Chichester, West Sussex, England, September 2023

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures an intriguing pair of AC Cobras, with the registration numbers CJ13 1322. These iconic vehicles hold a joint history, known as the Carroll Shelby Celebration. Allegedly featured in this parade are over fifty cars that played a significant role in Carroll Shelby's legendary motorsport career. Carroll Shelby himself was not only a successful driver but also an accomplished engineer and team owner. His achievements include winning the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1959 and developing the awe-inspiring Shelby and Daytona Cobras, which triumphed at Le Mans again in 1964. The photograph was taken during the Goodwood Revival event at the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit in Chichester, West Sussex, England. The ambience and atmosphere of this gathering truly transport you back to a bygone era of motor racing nostalgia. It is remarkable to think that someone who once described themselves as just a chicken farmer could leave such an indelible mark on the world of motorsports. This image perfectly encapsulates both his legacy and passion for engineering excellence. With its retro charm and thrilling speed, this print serves as a reminder of why classic car enthusiasts flock to events like Goodwood Revival – where heritage meets entertainment on the racetrack. Chris McEvoy from CJM Photography has expertly captured this momentous occasion for all to enjoy.
